Inspire Magazine speaks with Dr Mourad Belkhelfa, a Lecturer in Biotechnology and Health in the Department of Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Sciences and Technology Houari Boumediene, Algiers. Dr Belkhelfa is the lead author of the paper entitled “IFN-γ and TNF-α Are Involved During Alzheimer Disease Progression and Correlate with Nitric Oxide Production: A Study in Algerian Patients”, which won the 2015 Algerian Paper of the Year Award in Medicine, Pharmacy & Veterinary Sciences. Interview | Winners of the 2014 Algerian Paper of the Year Award in Biological Sciences

Dr. Mohamed L. Toumi is a lecturer at the Applied Neuroendocrinology Laboratory at the University of Badji Mokhtar in Annaba, Algeria, and first author of the paper that won the 2014 Algerian Paper of the Year Award in Biological Sciences, entitled “Quercetin alleviates predator stress-induced anxiety-like and brain oxidative signs in pregnant rats and immune count disturbance in their offspring” and which was published in the journal Pharmacology, Biochemistry and Behavior. Interview | Winners of anasr.org’s 2013 Algerian Paper of the Year in Medicine, Pharmacy & Veterinary Sciences

Ms. Katia Abdelouhab is an Assistant Lecturer in immunology and biochemistry at the Department of Biological Sciences in the University of Ferhat Abbas, Setif where she is also currently pursuing a doctoral degree focusing on immunopathology and immunotherapy. She previously worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Houari Boumediene in Algiers, within the Cytokines and NOSynthase group. Inspire Magazine spoke with Ms Abdelouhab to find out more about her paper which won the prize of the 2013 Algerian Paper of the Year Award in the category of Medicine, Pharmacy and Biological Sciences.
